ABOUT US…
Hello reader, welcome to our blog!
We are four students who at first glance are very different: philosophy, literature, and linguistics students; Nadia, Nelly, Juliana, and Mathieu. We decided to create a blog together thanks to our English teacher Mrs Bouhmid. Her course, focused on Blogs during this semester, has the objective of creating a blog as a group.
In addition to enjoying reading, asking questions about life, and many more; we have another passion in common that brought us together: cooking. That's why we decided to create a blog to share these passions with you.
Here’s a bit more about each of us:
Nadia : “Hello! I’m Nadia. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m studying philosophy. I hope to become a philosophy professor. I’m currently taking care of my family. At nine years old, I began to write as a way to escape reality. As of now, I cook because it’s a good meditative activity (you can’t cook something good if your soul is angry). I think cooking is an art of being, and writing an art of living.”
Nelly : “I am Nelly. I am also 40 years old and studying philosophy. I want to become a schoolteacher. I’m currently a classroom assistant; I help people with learning disabilities (AESH) in a college. I’m also a leisure center facilitator and director. Apart from my career, I love art (poetry, music, painting, drawing, photography, and design). I also love cooking and having my friends over for dinner. I enjoy shopping days, restaurants, cinema, concerts…”
Juliana : “My name is Juliana, I'm Brazilian and I’m 36 years old. I've been living in France for 9 years but I always go to Brazil to visit my family and escape the winter in France, so I end up enjoying the mango season in Brazil. I always liked literature and I also like to study to understand a little more about human beings, society, and art. I started cooking more during pregnancy and nowadays I love cooking for my daughter. I love cooking and researching food, as well as the history of the dish (for example, Brazilian food and the story of how the meeting of different peoples was translated into food).”
Mathieu : “I’m Mathieu and I’ll soon turn 20. I’m studying linguistics at Paul Valery University. I’m also studying for a Korean language diploma, and I'm going to study in South Korea for the 2024 fall semester. I would like to teach French as a foreign language (FLE) in the future. I also dream of opening a coffee shop and selling sweet drinks and desserts. I particularly enjoy reading (novels and manga), listening to music, drawing, writing, traveling, cooking/baking. I’m vegetarian and I love trying new foods and recipes.”
As you can see, we are all different: different ages, different nationalities, different studies, different culinary tastes. Differences and curiosity are good together, we hope to share many things with you and let our individualities and similarities tell our story.
OUR BLOG
For each of us, cooking and eating good meals are necessary. We don’t like to buy ready meals. Society goes too fast but we should all remember to take the time to appreciate simple but fulfilling things. Cooking, reading, painting, listening to music and sharing memories with people can’t be done in 5 minutes.
Cooking is a way to let our imagination and creativity speak, it is also great to relax and unwind. Food is a connector. It’s about sharing memories in the making, and it’s a gentle way of showing love.
So why not share it with the world? Food is one of the few things that brings everyone together.
In this blog, we want to share our common and personal interests around good meals and recipes. Think of our blog as a meal where each of us will talk about what makes us happy. If you also want to share your story, join our table!
